IMPORTANT INFO: Yes NASS is
under new ownership this year and will be bigger and better than ever before. We
are the team that runs the Rip Curl Boardmasters in Newquay, Europe's largest
week long surf, skate and music festival, to check out what's going on there
this coming summer visit www.ripcurlboardmasters.com
So some IMPORTANT new facts about
how NASS will be run this year and some tips on what to bring and what to leave
at home:
There is a new site layout at NASS; the site will be split into
the main area which everyone can access and three main camp sites; general,
family and athlete/crew. You will be wrist banded accordingly and will not be
able to access the camping zones with a day ticket. You will also not be allowed
to stay past 3am on a day ticket.
NASS this year is going to be clean
and fun, please respect others and yourselves. We have a new security team in
place who are fair and friendly. However we don't want you to have to meet head
of security Mark for misbehaving, in his free time he is a cage fighter. Please
note your car may be searched when you arrive as will you and your bag on
entering the site.
Please do NOT light camp fires anywhere on site
What to leave at home:
Alcohol
is not allowed to be brought on site - we will have a few reasonably priced
bars
Drugs -err, these are illegal
Offensive weapons or anything that may
be considered offensive
Fireworks - there are many farms in the area and they
frighten the livestock
Any glass
Pets
Laser pens - they are
dangerous
Mini motorised scooters and bikes - these will not be
allowed
Gas BBQ's (disposables are allowed FIRES ARE
NOT)
Spray-paint
What to
bring:
ID, if you are over 18 and want to drink alcohol - challenge 21
will be in place at all bars
Cash for the weekend there may not be a cash
point on site
Your skate board or BMX
Rainwear, sun wear & warm
clothes
Tent and sleeping bag if you are camping
Change of clothes in case
you get wet
Mobile phone - please keep it safe
There will be an
onsite shop
What not to do:
Do
not light camp fires - they will be put out immediately
Do not set off
fireworks - there are many farms in the area and they frighten the
livestock
Do not drink too much - it pickles your brain and you'll feel like
death in the morning
Do not try and break in - we have dogs (& Mark)
patrolling the perimeter
What to
do:
Have fun
Check out all the sports and have a go on the courses
and ramps
Enjoy the music - this year it's going to be epic
Use the litter
bins
Be nice to people!
Children
Children aged 7 and under are
welcome free of charge but due to the nature of festivals we do not recommend
you bring small children.
Child tickets are available for 8 to 11 year olds
(inclusive)
Persons aged 15 and under by law must now be accompanied by an
adult of 18 or over.
If you are bringing a child to NASS then you should on
arrival get a child wristband. Write your mobile number on the wristband and
affix it firmly to your child's wrist. This should enable us to contact you
should your child become separated from you.
You should also make it a
priority on arrival to ensure that your children are made familiar with their
surroundings, should they become separated from you they will then know where to
get help. In particular make them aware of the security staff, the event office
and the medical & welfare centre.
