Thousands of people will be lining up to take part in the world's biggest half marathon, the BUPA Great North Run, on Sunday 30 September 2007.

The world's biggest half marathon, the BUPA Great North Run, celebrated its 26th anniversary in 2006 and is a point-to-point course that starts in Newcastle and finishes in South Shields. 

A fully fit Paula Radcliffe will compete for the first time in 21 months at the BUPA Great North Run on September 30.

Radcliffe , a two-times GNR champion , has chose n for her comeback a testing contest at the world's biggest half marathon from Newcastle to South Shields.

Everyone running the Great North Run will be sent a Championship, which is your own personal timing device.

It is attached to a strap and worn on your ankle and will be triggered when you cross over the start and finish mats to give you an accurate running time.
