Detail’s flagship event, The Rat Race Urban Adventure in association with Columbia Sportswear returns for 2007, ready again to take the UK’s cities by storm as it hits the streets of Bristol and Edinburgh. Hundreds of urban adventure racers will return to run, jump, climb and abseil across the cities’ roads, buildings, landmarks and waterways.

The weekend-long adventure races, held in Bristol and Edinburgh over the summer, are unlike any other sport in the UK. An ‘irregular challenge for regular people,’ the races are open to anyone from total amateurs to elite athletes, involving a range of testing obstacles including scaling city centre buildings, swimming, running, canoeing, mountain biking and orienteering, all in the unlikely setting of the heart of two of Britain’s coolest cities.

Each race also features an event village showcasing the very best of local urban life including DJ’s, BMX stunt-teams, parkour displays and street art.
