White Air (Extreme Sports Festival)

White Air is an international multi-sport festival: Windsurfing, Kitesurfing and Surfing make up some of the extreme watersports events whilst disciplines such as Mountain Boarding, Skate and BMX ensure an action-packed programme on land as well as water. The event is based at the ‘White Air’ village on the seafront at Yaverland, near Sandown, on the Island’s east coast.

Get the kids involved with the ‘Have a Go’ taster sessions (open to anyone aged eight and over) including free ocean kayak, windsurfing, surfing, paragliding, Thundercat powerboat and kitesurfing sessions. For 2007, paragliding has been added giving you the opportunity to sea the Island from the air. There will be chances to try the latest gear from various manufacturers as well as being taught by professionals.

World Extreme Sports Festival 2007 moves to the summer!....2007 is set to see a massive explosion of sport as the renowned 11th White Air Extreme Sports Festival moves to the summer! Based on the water, beach and land the extreme festival will include over 14 awesome sports and will this year will also include the World Windsurfing Racing Championships, World Frisbee, Skate Vert with the biggest stars and the biggest ramps, Graffiti Jams, ’Have a Go! public interaction’, Mtn Boards Freestyle Jumping, displays, open parks, trade shows, live music stage, huge parties and much much more!

The biggest World event ever held in Windsurfing Racing in the UK will be at White Air 2007 on the Isle of Wight. 500 competitors from 40 countries will be joined by the top 100 racers in the World for a 7 day racing extravaganza!
